The Center for the Study of the U.S.
Established: 2002

The Center for the Study of the U.S. at Haifa University encourages the study of aspects of United States history. It approaches the study of the United States through problematic issues that have relevance to both societies. Our central theme for the first two years is: “Ethnicity, Race, and Cultural Diversity,” issues clearly crucial in both Israeli and American culture. At the core of the center’s activities we envision an on-going program of mini-courses, to be given by leading American scholars, on topics not now taught at Haifa. For graduate students working toward their doctorates on American history or culture, the Center offers an opportunity to study at an American university (the University of Iowa or the College of William and Mary).
